About Kamori

Kamori is a small independent game studio. We make short, free games that start right away in your browser, on a phone or a computer.

Why Kamori

You have probably seen those mobile game ads showing a great game… that doesn’t exist: an army that doubles through a gate, a fort that grows stone by stone, a snake that slices all the others. Once you install the app, the real game is nothing like it. We wanted to make those games for real, and make them playable in one tap: no app to install, no account to create, no waiting.

Our games are made for short breaks: a round lasts one to three minutes, and you can stop whenever you like, your progress is kept.

Our games

  • Snake Slice: Slice smaller snakes into orbs, dodge the bigger ones, beat every arena's boss.
  • Snow Stack: Hunt the snow creatures, stack their gold, grow your camp.
  • Fort Surge: Build your fort, hold back the horde, conquer the valley. Endless.
  • Squad Surge: Lead your company. Hold back the infernal horde.

Each game has its own page, with the rules, tips and answers to common questions.

How we make them

We write our games ourselves, in JavaScript, with the free 3D library Three.js. The models, animations and sounds of Snake Slice and Snow Stack are entirely generated by code, and so is the music of Snow Stack. Squad Surge and Fort Surge use free characters and scenery by the artist Quaternius, and sounds and music under free licences: every author is listed in the credits.

Before release, each game is tuned with an autopilot that plays whole games for us. It helps us check that the difficulty rises step by step, with no impossible wall, and that you keep progressing even when you lose.

Our mascot is called Mori: the little red ball sitting on the joystick in our logo.

Our principles

  • Truly free. Our games have nothing to sell: everything unlocks by playing.
  • No account. Your progress is kept in your browser; we never ask for a name, an email or a password.
  • Ads, but reasonable ones. Ads pay for development. The ones that give a bonus are always optional, next to a button to carry on without, and ad breaks stay rare.
  • Privacy first. Our visit statistics are anonymous; the Privacy page explains everything we collect, and how to opt out.
