The game
Snake Slice is a 3D snake game played in two-minute rounds. Your snake moves on its own through a big arena, alongside about ten other snakes. Each one shows its level above its head: the higher the level, the longer and bigger the snake, and the camera pulls back as you grow.
Your goal: grow fast enough to beat the boss’s level before the round ends. You meet the boss at the start, then its face stays at the top of the screen, with a bar that shows how you’re doing. After two minutes, the arena empties, the ground shakes… and the boss bursts out of the ground to charge at you. If it’s weaker than you, you swallow it, you win its skin and you move on to the next arena, with a stronger boss. The arenas never run out, and they cycle through six worlds: The Meadow, The Beach, Candy Land, The Ice Floe, The Volcano and Starry Night.
How to play
- Phone
- put your finger anywhere and slide: your snake heads wherever your finger goes.
- Computer
- the arrow keys or W, A, S, D.
- Grow: eat the small yellow orbs scattered around the arena (+1 each), and above all the big colored orbs left behind by snakes that get cut or killed.
- Cut: hit the body of a smaller snake with your head. The whole piece you cut off turns into big orbs in its colors, and it’s up to you to eat them before the others do.
- Kill: head to head, the bigger snake wins. The loser bursts entirely into orbs.
- Bounce: if your head hits the body of a bigger snake, you bounce off. Nobody can ever go through a body.
- Boosts: the green chevrons speed you up, the magnet pulls orbs toward you, and the blue shield protects you: for 6 seconds, nobody can cut you or kill you.

Tips to go further
- Read the color of the levels. A red number above a head means “stronger than you”: keep your head well away from that one. A white number means prey. When a big snake gets close, a “BIGGER SNAKE!” banner warns you.
- Aim for the bodies of smaller snakes, not their heads. Cutting a snake through the middle leaves a pile of big orbs right in front of you: it’s the fastest way to grow.
- Getting cut costs you nothing. Your level depends only on your head: a snake that gets cut keeps its level, and its body grows back. Don’t panic if someone cuts off your tail; just protect your head.
- Save the blue shield for the tense moments. Six seconds when nobody can cut you or kill you: that’s your chance to go grab orbs right in the middle of the big snakes.
- Keep an eye on the boss bar. You have to beat the boss, not just match it: at the same level, the boss wins. The bar turns green with a check mark once you’re stronger; in the last ten seconds, it flashes red if you’re still too weak.
- Against the boss, watch out for its body. If you’re stronger, you can cut it like any other snake; if you’re weaker, you bounce off it and it’s the one cutting you.
Progression
At the end of each round, you earn coins based on your score (the highest level you reached), the snakes you killed and the boss. Between rounds, you spend them on upgrades: Start (you begin the round bigger), Speed, Magnet (orbs come to you from farther away) and Duration (boosts last longer).
There are also 28 skins for your snake: 16 in the shop, 6 as rewards for mission chapters, and 6 boss skins, horns and all, which you win by swallowing the boss of each world. Missions come in chapters of eight (eat, cut, kill, reach a level, swallow the boss…) and earn you coins; each chapter you finish unlocks an exclusive skin.
Frequently asked questions
Is the game really free?
Yes. There’s nothing to buy: you earn upgrades and skins just by playing.
Do I need to download an app or create an account?
No. Snake Slice opens right in your browser, on a phone or a computer. The other snakes are controlled by the computer, so there’s no waiting for other players.
What happens if I get eaten?
Once per round, you can revive (by watching an ad, if you want), with three seconds of shield. Otherwise, the round ends and you keep the coins you earned.
Is my progress saved?
Yes, automatically, in your browser: your arena, coins, upgrades and skins stay on this device.
Are there ads?
A few, and they’re what keeps the game free. The ones that give you a bonus (multiplying your coins, reviving, a free upgrade) are always optional, and the “No thanks” button is there so you can carry on without them.
